Accessibilitystatement
Spike-Buster Media LLC wants Enginerds and Enginerds Compass to be usable by everyone, including people who browse by keyboard, use a screen reader or magnifier, need high contrast, or prefer reduced motion.
The standard we build to
We build to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, Level AA. For customers in the European Union and the EEA, that also covers the technical baseline referenced by the European Accessibility Act, EN 301 549.
Where we stand today
Partially conformant. That means most of the site meets the standard, and some parts do not yet; those parts are listed below. No independent accessibility audit has been carried out. Our own testing to date has been by keyboard, with a screen reader, at high zoom, and with a reduced-motion preference set.
What works
- Every page starts with a "Skip to main content" link, so you do not have to tab through the navigation on each page.
- Interactive controls show a visible focus outline, including on dark backgrounds and in Windows High Contrast mode.
- Dialogs — the checkout confirmation, the plan explainer, topic previews — move focus into themselves, keep Tab inside while open, close on Escape, and return focus to whatever opened them.
- The coverage-composition charts — the ones that carry the measurements — have a text description of what they show: the period covered, the totals, the busiest month, and the leading category with its share.
- Direction and change are never conveyed by colour alone — every rising or falling reading is also stated in words.
- Results that appear without a page change — a cancellation confirmation, a completed or failed export, a saved cookie choice — are announced to screen readers.
- Animation is suppressed when your system asks for reduced motion.
- Content reflows to a single column at 400% zoom; wide tables and charts scroll within themselves rather than pushing the page sideways.
- The cookie banner presents Accept and Reject with equal prominence, is reachable and operable by keyboard, and can be dismissed without making a choice when you reopen it to look.
What does not conform yet
- The relationship maps (topic ontology and connection maps) are force-directed graphs. They can be read as a list, but the graph itself is not yet fully keyboard-navigable node by node.
- Some chart tooltips appear on hover and are not yet reachable by keyboard. The underlying numbers are available in the text description and in the tables beneath each chart.
- Smaller charts — the momentum quadrant, presence and trajectory strips, and the story-type shapes — currently carry only a short name rather than a full description of their data. The coverage-composition charts have the full description; these do not yet.
- Third-party pages. Sign-in is handled by Microsoft and payment by Stripe. We do not control those pages and cannot state their conformance.
- Some older editorial articles may contain images without a text alternative, or headings that skip a level.
- No independent audit has been done.
