Compass Subscription, Billing & Refund Terms

These Subscription Terms govern paid access to Enginerds Compass ("Compass"), operated by Spike-Buster Media LLC, a California limited liability company ("Company", "we", "us"). They supplement, and are part of, our Terms of Service. Use of the Signal Feed (API) plan is additionally governed by our API Terms & Data License. Current plans, prices, and included allowances are listed on the pricing page; this page describes how billing works.

Plans

Compass is offered as a free tier, paid monthly subscriptions (for example, Pro and Plus), a programmatic Signal Feed (API) plan, and an optional one-off report purchase. The features, monthly report allowances, and prices for each are shown on the pricing page and may change as described below.

Recurring Billing & Renewal

  • Paid subscriptions are billed in advance on a recurring monthly basis at the price shown at checkout.
  • Your subscription automatically renews each billing period until you cancel.
  • Payments are processed by our third-party payment processor, Stripe. We do not store full card numbers; card handling is performed by Stripe under its own terms and privacy policy.
  • Prices are exclusive of any applicable taxes unless stated; you are responsible for any taxes that apply to your purchase.

Cancellation

  • You may cancel at any time from your account's billing settings (or by contacting us at the email below). Cancellation is at least as easy to perform as starting or managing the subscription.
  • Cancellation stops future billing. Your paid access continues through the end of the current billing period; it is not cut off immediately.
  • We do not engage in dark-pattern cancellation practices: there is no retention maze, and your key terms are shown before you are charged.

Refunds

  • Except where required by law, recurring subscription fees are non-refundable, including for partial billing periods after a cancellation. You retain access for the remainder of the period you paid for.
  • If you were charged due to a clear billing error on our part, contact us and we will review and, where appropriate, issue a correction or refund.
  • One-off report purchase: a one-off report is a digital product delivered immediately upon purchase. Because it is generated and delivered at once, it is non-refundable once generated, except where required by law or in the case of a genuine technical failure to deliver. If a report fails to generate, contact us for a regeneration or refund.

Plan Changes

You may upgrade or downgrade between paid plans. Upgrades take effect promptly; downgrades and cancellations take effect at the end of the current billing period unless stated otherwise at the time of the change. Where a change results in a proration, it will be reflected by the payment processor.

Monthly Allowances

Some plans include a metered monthly allowance (for example, a number of full reports per month). Allowances reset each billing period and, unless stated on the pricing page, do not roll over. Re-opening, windowing, or exporting a report you have already unlocked does not consume additional allowance.

Failed Payments

If a payment fails, we (via Stripe) may retry the charge. If payment cannot be collected, we may suspend or downgrade paid access until the balance is resolved. You remain responsible for amounts properly due.

Price Changes

We may change prices or the contents of a plan. For an existing subscription, we will provide reasonable advance notice of a price increase (for example, by email or an in-product notice), and the new price will apply to your next renewal. Continuing to use the paid service after the change takes effect constitutes acceptance of the new price.

Free Tier & Waitlist

The free tier is provided "as is" and may change or be discontinued. Where Compass is offered via a waitlist or early-access period, access and pricing for that period are as described at the time and may differ from general availability.

Suspension & Termination

We may suspend or terminate paid access for violation of these terms, the Terms of Service, or the API Terms, or for non-payment. You may stop using the service at any time by cancelling.
